Kate Valley Landfill

On Tuesday and Wednesday the Akeake team visited Kate Valley Landfill.

For health and safety reasons we had to stay on the bus. We had Paul from Kate Valley show us around and tell us all about all about the landfill.

Our favourite parts were stopping for morning tea in Amberley at the park and looking all around the landfill. It was really interesting!

ASB BANK VISIT

During week 7, the Akeake team had a visit from Kate who works at ASB Bank.

Kate talked and showed lots and lots of different tips about money and how we can use and save it. 

All the classes learned about some what good and bad deal is. We might be able help everyone to save some money when shopping!

Children's Day - 11 March 2017

   

CHILDREN'S DAY

On Friday 11th March our school celebrated Children's Day. We all participated in Top Team run by Sport Canterbury, went to our buddy classes and did awesome activities, and choose to either go to the pool or went to an amazing magic show. 

We celebrated being children by having fun, working together and showing community for our school friends and the wider world. 

Throughout the day we had a sausage sizzle and mufti day to fundraise for Kaiapoi North School's sponsor child, Daniel and his community.  - Mr Henderson

Come and EXPLORE with us

Every Friday Akeake enjoy EXPLORE time. 

Choices range from PE to singing to different craft activities and baking. 

If you are able to take 8 students for a fun activity over 4 weeks, please come and chat to Miss Roome.

We are excited to find out what activities we can choose between for our next rotation which starts this week.
